5/26/12

Dear Jake,

Happy 7 months to you! Our Fridays have been a bit disrupted because I went on a business trip with Poppa to New Orleans and then I came home a bit under the weather. Poppa and I went to some great restaurants and did lots of sightseeing but somehow our conversations always went back to talking about you!

I did get to see you this weekend as you turned 7 months! To the delight of your parents, you seem to be getting the hang of sleeping at night. You had a new record of 9 hours one night this week. Of course your parents didn't sleep the whole time as they kept getting up to make sure you were ok!

For Mother's Day this year Poppa had your birthstone added to my Mother's ring. When we met for an ice cream cone this weekend, you surprised me with the finished product. You were very serious about the whole thing and then you tried to eat the bow!

Your Mom!

5/11/12

Dear Jake,

In honor of Mother's Day I would like to use this blog entry to tell you a little bit about your wonderful Mom. She has always been a superstar in everything she gets into and being your Mom is no exception. From the minute she discovered that you were growing inside of her she did everything in her power from yoga to a strict healthy diet to give you the best start possible. Before we knew it, it was October 25 and you made your grand entrance into the world! It was amazing to me to see my daughter turn into your Mom with such grace and confidence. You are always her number one priority and it is so much fun to see how much you are both enjoying each other. You are a very lucky boy as I am sure you will grow to find out!
This weekend we had a lot to celebrate. Besides Mother's Day it was also Poppa Crowley's birthday and your Mom and Dad's fourth wedding anniversary.  You are always the life of the party and you enjoyed every moment!

Blog Takeover! A message to Grammy, from Jake (with a little help from his Mom)

Dear Mom/Grammy,

Happy Mother's Day! You are such an incredible Grammy and Mom and we appreciate you so much. I have always thought you were an amazing mother, but now being a Mom I am beginning to see and have an even deeper appreciation for all that you have done for us, all that you have taught us, and most importantly all that you are. You always put your children ahead of yourself in every situation and your love, guidance and support throughout each stage of life is just beyond what words can describe.
Jake is so lucky to have such loving Grandparents and the time you guys spend together I know is and will be so special to him.
Thank you for being the best!

We love you!

5/4/12

Dear Jake,

On this Friday with Grammy we had some very special visitors. Your Great-Aunt Terese and your second cousins, Lori and Kimberly, came over for lunch. Aunt Terese lives in Italy right now but whenever she is home for a visit, she always makes time to see you! We had a pizza party on your porch and you sat very proudly in your new highchair. You loved showing Kim and Lori all of your toys.
After our visit you were off to NJ for some fun with Grandma and Poppa Gorra. Grammy was off to Vermont to watch your Uncle Mike in a race called the Tough Mudder. It seems like it would be something you would like to do when you are all grown up too!

Six months and counting!

4/27/12

Dear Jake,

Happy 6 month birthday to you! It amazes me that you have only been around for such a short period of time and you have changed our lives so much! Sometimes I would love to slow you down but it is also so much fun watching you grow. You had your 6 month visit to your pediatrician and you are right on track in every area. According to the charts, you are going to be tall as you placed in the 86% for height.
You are gaining so many new skills. You are becoming very efficient at using two hands and everything you touch is going right into your mouth. Your Poppa Crowley had the honor of giving you your first taste of strawberry ice cream. I could just feel your Great Grandfather, Wally, smiling down on you because that was his favorite flavor. You also gave your very first hug which went to your wonderful Mom. When I came over on this Friday you gave me a hug too and it felt like heaven!
