4/20/12

Dear Jake,

On this Friday with Grammy, the weather was absolutely beautiful! We walked for a lot of our time together in your new neighborhood. You like to walk as long as we either talk or sing the whole time. Your new neighbors probably think your Grammy is a bit crazy! We talked about how you went to your first Boston Marathon to congratulate one of your Mom's best friends, Lyndsey, on completing her first marathon on Monday. Everyone was so proud of her.
When your Mom and Dad came home from work, Poppa came over and we had a pizza party on your new porch. Of course you don't eat pizza yet, but you did enjoy your prunes. Most of the time although we put a bib on, you need a whole new outfit after a meal! You have a sippy cup now and are very interested in being able to handle it on your own. At the end of the night, you didn't want the party to end, so as you can see in the photo, you did your best to hold on to us!

Dear Jake,

You have made so many achievements this week! You are now using two hands to handle things and you can throw things. You can just about sit up by yourself unless you realize you are doing it and then you fall over. Being a bit of a character, you have also developed a fake cough that you expect lots of attention for! There may be a career in acting for you!
Your Mom and Dad do a great job of keeping you away from the television but this Friday we made a bit of an exception and watched a couple of innings of the Red Sox home opener. It is the 100th anniversary of Fenway Park and we are aways on the lookout for your Uncle Tim's videos as he is a videographer for the Red Sox. So we put on your shirt that your Aunt Loretta gave you that says, "My Mom likes the Red Sox, my Dad likes the Yankees but they both love me" and we down to watch a little baseball. We decided that as long as you always will make some time to watch a game with me, we really don't care which team you route for!

4/13/12
Dear Jake,
It sure was a happy first Easter for you! Since it was your very first week in your new home, we wanted to make sure that the Easter Bunny knew that a great little boy lived there. So, on our Friday together, we decorated a tree in your new yard with colored Easter eggs. You loved all the bright colors!
On Saturday you put your bunny hat on and were off to Rhode Island for an Easter visit with Grammy,  Poppa Gorra and lots of great family. Your Aunt Erin and Uncle Brad had their baby shower and before you know it, you will have a little cousin to hang out with!
On Easter Sunday, you made your way up to Rochester Ma to celebrate with the Crowley gang. You met your Uncle Danny Sullivan for the first time. He is serving in the Navy and has been stationed in Japan. We are all really proud of Danny and glad that he will now be stationed in Chicago!
As you can see you had a very busy first Easter and made it so special for us all. Your Mom and Dad are so great about sharing you with so many people!

3/29/12

Dear Jake,

You are a little guy on the move! Today your Mom and Dad packed up all your toys and books and got ready for the movers to come. Because you  like a lot of action, you thought the packing was great fun. We all sat and had pizza for dinner which was the same thing we had the very first night that you moved to the shipyard just over a year ago. At the time, we didn't know that you were already growing in your Mom's tummy!
This week we got to have two days together because you came to Grammy's house while the movers were there. You got to meet lots of our neighbors and we visited your 2 Great Grandmothers. At the end of the day your Mom and Dad treated everyone to a great dinner at Stars and then off you went to spend your first night in your new room! I think you and your Mom and Dad are going to be very happy there!
